Congratulations Class of 2020
Generation Prodigy is extremely excited to feature Victor from African Centered Preparatory Academy! He is smart, insightful, strong and a servant leader. This young man rose to the occasion academically, graduating to the 9th grade with 7 As and 5 Bs! Personally, I am proud of this young man and want to congratulate his mom as well. He desires to go to college and play NFL football. He may manage some teams too! He has law potential! Help us celebrate Mr. Victor! #IMa

Memories
We are reflecting on our last moments together at African Centered Preparatory Academy, and thank Ms. Bea Sims for helping us progress with our IMatter Vision Board. The youth loved her! #memories #missingImatter #teentalk

School Blues: The Teacher
Many teens have issues with their teachers. Teachers can become hard to deal with, and frustrating. In my situation, my algebra teacher had an issue with my "so called" attitude and refused to change my grade. I had a rough morning last week before I arrived to school, and my mouth had gotten me into a lot of trouble. Trying to resolve the problem, I apologized to my teacher, but she wasn’t taking it. My teacher told me I couldn’t come in to fix my grade or do missing work
You Matter.
As we prepare for the 2019-20 school year, youth are still concerned about bullying. The same bullies students had to face last year, may be present again this year. Bullying takes place in so many forms. Youth are being teased for being smart, modest, caring, even if they are minding their own business. One of the latest and more prevalent forms is through social media and texts (although youth shouldn't have their phones in the classroom IJS). There are youth who believe

Emojis 😁 😍 😒 😩 😳 😭
The 21st Century Teen face emotional battles that the 20th Century Teen never had to face 🙈. For example, if someone at school started a rumor about you in 1996 👀, the only people who knew were school mates and the possible friends and teacher/coach of the gossiper 😒 (BTW, we had landline phones and beepers back then 😳). Fast forward to 2019, when someone gossips, that rumor is spread to the world through social media and the world can now judge you 😩. Kalin's point, "

Teen Talk: Gun Violence
Teen Talk is a place where young people like me can express and learn about themselves. My name is Jachelle and I just graduated high school. High School can be tough sometimes. What's going on in school? "Teens in school feel like they can't express their emotions due to peer pressure." Concerning gun violence, "Teens also feel like guns make them feel prideful and tougher." In school, you have to stay focused if you want to survive. #teentalk #Youth #gunviolence #ment
May Flowers
"April showers, bring May flowers," is a popular cliche that is true this year in Kanas City. It is also true for Generation Prodigy as well. April showered us with a lot of information to help us grow as an organization. As we move patiently, listening to mentors and team members with valuable wisdom, May brought us more youth. We are excited to see GP students bloom into more confident and focused individuals. We are preparing for our second pilot tour, Washington, D.C. a
