What I Don’t Know

One of the hardest things to do in this life is to tell yourself that you don’t know something.

I don’t know what I’m doing

I don’t know if I’m losing

I don’t know who I’m fooling

What I’m supposed to be proving

I don’t know how to feel

I can’t tell what is real

I don’t know who to call

Who’d pick me up when I fall

I don’t know what to say

Can’t move my pride out the way

I don’t know how to face

The problems that come with today

What is wrong with our youth

I don’t know what’s the truth

I don’t know what to do

I don’t even know you.

I don’t even know me

What it’s like to be free

I don’t know how to open up

I don’t have the key

I don’t know how you do it

How you stay and fight through it

I don’t know if you’re strong

Or if you just can’t move on

I don’t know why we die

I don’t know why we cry

If the end was near for me

I don’t know if I’d hide

I don’t know how to wait

How to stay in one place

If I wasn’t meant to travel

Why are there so many states

I don’t know how to keep faith

-ful of so many mistakes

I don’t know how to stand up

And say enough is enough

I don’t know how to say “no”

I don’t know what I don’t know

But that’s just fine with me

Because I do know how to grow.

I stay woke is more than a song

it’s an awareness of right versus wrong

It’s a cry from the frontal lobe

after being probed... traveling the globe

Bleeding questions of hidden truth

to the foolish, what’s the use

To the teacher, trying to reach her

to the foolish, nothing occur

Stay woke my friend, no time to sleep

An indolent never sows, but tries to reap

From one generation there’s a strength

to the next, weather the length

The journey, the struggle, the climb, the unseen

wake up, heel-toe, child work that dream!

Stay woke, child sing,

remember the law, it can sting

Stay woke, hide the bling

rewind. do amazing things!

Stay woke. Stay alive

Understand truth. Grab with five

Stay woke. Work hard

Believe the non-fictional lard.

This world... no joke

If I were you, I’d STAY WOKE.
